MANA held the annual AvanZamos and Hermanitas Leadership Institute in New York City, July 23- 25, 2018. MANA members and youth from across the country convened for networking, workshops, inspirational speakers, and educational activities as excellence in Latina leadership development, community service, and advocacy were celebrated. Adults participated in best practices discussions, an advocacy roundtable, financial literacy and retirement training, and a state of Latinas in the U.S. address. All participants were treated to an Experiential Day designed to provide an educational and cultural day of exploration, taking them from 30 Rockefeller Center, where they toured the famous NBC Studios, all the way to Liberty Island to experience the beacon of freedom for generations of immigrants: the Statue of Liberty.
